Method: task energy uses the same token-scaled model as the main site (0.34 Wh per ~800-token median query, data centre overhead included). Live prices are what you would pay for that energy locally — real data centres buy power on industrial contracts, typically cheaper, and increasingly site themselves where the strip chart above is greenest. UK: NESO/Oxford Carbon Intensity API (national + 14 regions) and Octopus Agile tariffs. Germany/Austria: aWATTar wholesale spot (retail adds taxes and network fees, typically 2–3×).
